Daniel Dvoress, A poker player’s biography

Daniel Dvoress has done two major deeds in his life. First, he has managed to win a total of $28 million in live poker tournaments. And second, he has managed to keep his personal and private life almost completely hidden from the world. The only thing we know about Dvoress’s childhood is that he emigrated to Canada with his family when he was 8, and his birthplace is Russia. But I guess that’s all a side story to the real tale of this player’s Poker life and the successes he has earned. Stick with us till the end of this article to find out how Daniel Dvoress has done it all.

Daniel Dvoress’s early life

Dovress first encountered the magical world of Poker under the name Oxota when he was walking the corridors of his high school. His parents were utterly averse to his new online hobby and forbade him to play ever again. However, college life and its financial needs made him go back to what he had known to do best for a long time: to play Poker online. This was his first step on the path, taking him to massive wins and two golden bracelets in the World Series of Poker tournaments. His first win was $2,700 in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 2013, where he came 39th.

Daniel Dvoress’s most important Poker wins

Dvoress has had a prolific Poker career, participating in over 150 matches and tournaments worldwide. After his first win in 2013, he continued taking part in various matches and managed to score his first significant win in the following years in 2014. He came 17th in the European Poker Tour, Barcelona, and won over $17,000.

European Poker Tour

As a general rule, Dvoress has never been a fan of glamorous Las Vegas Poker events. European games are his scene; he has attended these series multiple times. In fact, his next big win was in 2015 when he came 3rd in the European Poker Tour (EPT), Malta, and pocketed $278K. He attended many other events in EPT, but his highly significant win came in the 2019 series in Monte Carlo when he won $621,544, ranking number 4. EPT Monte Carlo’s following high rank for Daniel was in 2022 when he got second place and pocketed $406K.

PokerStars

Another tournament that Dvoress seems to be interested in is the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which he participates in regularly. In 2016, he participated in these tournaments in Paradise Islands and won over half a million dollars in three days. That, of course, was not the end of Daniel’s story with PokerStars. In the 2017 PokerStars Championship Bahamas, he came 4th and got another half a million dollars as a prize. 2017 and PokerStars were generally a lucrative combination for Dvoress because in April, he also won $1.6 million in Monte Carlo in two days.

Triton

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series seemed to be the theme of the year in 2019 because Dvoress made $965K and a $1.1 Million sum in the May events. In April 2022, he took part in the events again, and this time, he was ranked 5th in two days of competitions and got about half a million dollars as the prize.

Just one month after that, Daniel Dvoress was seen in Madrid attending the same series. This time, he improved his rankings to number two and won two prizes with a total sum of $1.5 Million in one week. In 2023, he attended the Triton series in Cyprus, London, and Monte Carlo and made a series of small and large wins. The largest of his prizes in these three events was when he came in first place and won $956K in November.

Caribbean Poker Party

The number of times Dvoress attended the Caribbean Poker Party is not much. But, he makes up for it by the size of the prizes he has won. For instance, the 2019 event brought him over $4 Million on one day and $375K the next day.

World Series of Poker

Dvoress has attended the World Series of Poker online and in person. The first time he ranked first in the online form of this event was in 2020 when his win brought him $1.4 Million. He went back to the World Series of Poker repeatedly in 2021, 2022, and 2023 but didn’t manage to win anything more than $100K. That is, until November 2023, when he got his second first prize and pocketed over $600K and $281K three days later.
